Automating Zoonotic Disease Surveillance Through Analytics and Collaboration
Overview
Responsible for tracking the transmission of disease from animal to human, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Zoonotic Disease and Residue Surveillance Division (ZDRSD) is at the forefront of our battle against threats such as Mad Cow Disease and Avian Influenza.
Recently, ZDRSD sought a way to automate and streamline its zoonotic disease surveillance activities. To accommodate its needs, the agency partnered with InfoReliance, which designed and developed the Comprehensive Zoonotic Disease Surveillance System – a unique technology solution to help USDA effectively monitor food safety in an early and critical part of the food chain.
